Aluminum trims are essential when install timber floor boards. They create necessary connection between floor coverings. There are different types of profile ranges designed for different situations.

The most extensively used one is END/BORDER TRIM worked as transition to meet timber, tiles, ceramics or carpet. There are three different sizes. Junior End is designed for 8mm thickness floor boards. Mid End is suitable for 12mm thickness floor boards. Senior End is produced for 14mm thickness floor boards. In most cases these END trims need to be pre-fitted before laying floor boards and the wide side of the trim should be nailed or glued on ground firmly.

Some installers like to use a kind of L-shape angle end, it’s easy to fit and cheap in price, but it’s not recommended to replace END/BORDER TRIM to use in most installations.

Our floor contractors use END TRIM for all their jobs, to enable the floor finishing in stable and aesthetically pleasing way in the long run.

Another widely used one is UNIVERSAL TOP/RAMP. We’ll talk about it in the next blog.
